Islands in the storm

Since 2005, winters in Mexico have been my Hemingway Machine.

As winter descends upon my refashioned yurt in Tennessee, I put away my planting and pruning tools, process the last of this year’s bamboo wastes into biochar, shut down my wood heater, and send myself south to warmer climes.
